This week’s Labour Party conference marked yet another turning point. Under its new leadership, Labour’s policies have turned sharply back to the right, and are now virtually indistinguishable from those of the Tories.
As a consequence, Labour has LOST…
* well over 150,000 members, with many thousands of socialist activists expelled
* almost £15 million in funds, plunging it on the brink of bankruptcy
* the affiliation of a founder-member union, with the risk of further disaffiliations to come
* in three successive bye-elections, two-thirds of the votes it had won in 2017
This open forum will address important questions flowing from the conference:
Is Labour finished?
Can the left regain the leadership?
What lessons can be learned from the Corbyn experience?
Is Labour on the verge of a split?
What are the prospects for a new mass left party?
