South America’s second biggest country Argentina has undergone an exceptionally unstable succession of political upheavals, from the regime of the populist Peron to guerrilla insurgency, military dictatorship, war with Britain, continuing political and economic turmoil, and for the last 18 months the rule of the far-right president Javier Milei.
