A WIN discussion October 2024. Listen HERE. Recent European elections, both EU and domestic, saw the emergence of individuals and parties campaigning on political policies identified as ‘Far Right’. Some of these were successfully elected and the groupings establishing credible support among the electorate.
In many countries violent demonstrations and physical attacks on people and property occurred, including attacks on police and public property. Most of the agitation was against ‘economic migrants’ and especially fuelled by differences of skin colour and religious background.
Colin O’Driscoll, a native of The Channel Islands, resident in Belgium, spoke at this week’s meeting on the rise of the Far Right and the shadowy figures who are orchestrating them and their electoral successes, including from layers of the working classes.
Colin was a senior Officer, campaigning on an internal democracy program in the International section of the British Labour Party, which grew to a membership of several thousand during the Corbyn Leadership. He was persecuted out of the Party on false allegations of ‘anti-Semitisms’.
