Evidently, piracy and murder are not enough for Trump and the circus of alcoholics and degenerates around him. The barbaric assault on Caracas and kidnap of the President of Venezuela is one more crime in the long list of violence America has carried out against the people of Latin America over the last 300 years. News is still coming out of Venezuela, but it seems likely that not only have members of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) been killed, but also civilians going about their lives in Caracas. That the Americans took the bizarre step of bombing the mausoleum where Hugo Chavez is interred simply underlines that there are no limits to imperialism – even in death they will not allow those who dare to resist to rest.
25 years ago, the Bush presidency used their various prostitutes in the media to spin the lies of weapons of mass destruction in Iraq, and of Osama bin Laden in Afghanistan. These were obvious lies, but they were able to invade both. Not only is Iraq still reeling from the colossal destruction of life, the toxic debris left by American forces continues to poison Iraqi mothers and children until today. Of course, big business filled their pockets on the back of military contracts, ‘reconstruction’ and resource extraction. Today, Trump does not even attempt to hide their intentions, but the stenographers regurgitate it all, nonetheless. Despite Trump’s pledge of no more ‘forever wars’, American imperialism intends to impose a government on the Venezuelan people and send Yankee oil monopolies to take Venezuelan oil. Of course, the Americans come bearing gifts – they will ‘fix’ Venezuelan infrastructure and ‘start making money’. Just like they did for Iraq. The fate of hundreds of thousands of Venezuelans whose temporary protected status was revoked by Trump has, of course, been completely forgotten, not to mention the hundreds renditioned to El Salvador to be abused and tortured. Ordinary Venezuelans mean nothing to the American ruling class.
Of course, the best we can expect from Keir Starmer is for him to crawl on his belly at the feet of any degenerate, so long as they wield power, including Trump. Labour and the trade unions should be demanding the immediate release of President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cecilia Flores, an immediate withdrawal of all US forces from strike positions in the Caribbean, the lifting of all sanctions, and reparations for the criminal damage inflicted on Venezuela.
Hands off Venezuela!
Yankee go home!
